It is important during the time of Advent that everyone dedicates more time to prayer and reading of the Bible. We encourage all parishioners to attend the sacrament of penance before Christmas.

During the Advent we support those in need. Caritas Finland’s Advent Collection supports farmers in Congo. We can donate via Caritas web page caritas.fi, directly to Caritas bank account, via Mobile pay or to the donation box in the church.

The feast of the dedication of our church and the Finnish Independence Day will be celebrated on Tuesday 6.12. The Holy Mass will begin at 10 am. The Cantores Minores Alumni choir will sing during the Mass. There will be no evening Mass on Tuesday.

The solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Thursday 8.12. There will be Mass in English at 8 am and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm

We invite children from 5 to 8 years old to a Sunday school in Finnish. The meeting will take place exceptionally on the next Sunday, 11.12 at 10 am in the parish hall. There will be the Holy Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30 am.

We invite all children to a rehearsal of the Christmas play on the next Sunday 11.12 after the Mass for children about 12.30 in the church. The last rehearsal will take place on the Christmas Eve at 1 pm. There is a list of roles on the information board. Parents can ask children about their favourite roles and write their names on the list.

Elders and home-bound persons can ask a priest to visit them at home and to bring the Holy Communion. Contact our parish office.

A marriage course will be organized for those who plan to get marry next year. The course will begin on the 10th of January 2023 in the parish hall of St. Henry’s cathedral at 7 pm.

We invite all 14 – 30 years old young people to participate in the World Youth Day in Portugal next year. More details on the information board.

Twelve parishioners have enrolled as candidates to the new parish council. The election board has decided to nominate all candidates to the parish council. Because one candidate has withdrawn his candidacy, eleven candidates have been nominated to the new parish council. They are: Kaj Glantz, Eeva Hämäläinen, Jipson Paul Kolenchery, Heikki Kymäläinen, Anne Kärnä, Tea Laurila, Pham Chau My, Heikki Saastamoinen, Sara Torvalds, Leo Virtanen, Siyan Zhuang. We congratulate the members of the new parish council.

There will be changes among the priests working in our parish. Fr. Zenon Strykowksi SCJ will leave Finland and return to his homeland at the beginning of January 2023. Fr. Martti Savijoki SCJ will come to work in our parish as a parochial vicar. Fr. Zenon will celebrate his farewell Mass on the first of January 2023 at 10 am. Fr. Martti will celebrate his first Mass on the 8th of January 2023 at 10 am. We wish them abundant God’s blessing in their new tasks.

We will celebrate the commemoration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, 2.12. There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament also after the evening Mass that will last till midnight.

There will be a Tridentine Mass on Saturday 3.12 at 7.30 am.

The Legion of Mary organises a procession in honour of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday 3.12 at 5 pm. The procession will begin at St. Mary’s church and will return to the church before the evening Mass.

There will be Mass in Espoo, in Olari chapel, on Sunday 4th of December at 4 pm.

Ks. Stanisław Szymajda SCJ zmarł w szpitalu w  Miechowie w dniu 30.6.2022 w wieku 72 lat.

Biskup emeryt Teemu Sippo SCJ odprawi Mszę św. za sp. ks. Stanisława we wtorek 5 lipca 2022 o godz. 12.00 w kościele Świętej Marii.

Ks. Ryszard Miś SCJ będzie obchodził 50 jubileusz święceń kapłańskich oraz ks. Zenon Strykowski SCJ 25 lecie święceń kapłańskich w niedzielę 5 czerwca o godz. 10.00.

Ograniczenia mające na celu zapobieganie rozprzestrzenianiu się epidemii Covid-19 i ochronę zdrowia ludzi zakończą się w diecezji helsińskiej do końca kwietnia 2022.

Działalność parafii wróci do normy. Nadal jednak zachęca się, by dbać o higienę rąk oraz nie przychodzić do kościoła, jeśli obserwuje się objawy typowe dla koronawirusa lub innych łatwo rozprzestrzeniających się chorób.

Od tej pory zostanie przywrócony obowiązek uczestnictwa we Mszy świętej w niedziele i święta obowiązkowe w kościele.
