This autumn, the Catholic Diocese of Helsinki is hosting its third Alpha course. Many have already found their way to the Catholic Church through the Alpha course!

Course sessions will be held on Tuesdays from September 1 to October 27, 6:00–8:00 PM, in the parish hall of St. Henry’s Cathedral, with a weekend gathering on October 9–10 at St. James’s Church. The course has Finnish- and English-speaking groups.

You can join during the first three sessions: September 1, 8, or 15.

Alpha is a series of gatherings where the fundamentals of Christianity are explored in a relaxed setting. Each Alpha evening includes a meal, a short presentation, and open discussion in groups.

For those of us who have already received the grace of knowing Jesus, the course offers a great opportunity to meet new people, discuss questions of faith aloud with others, and thereby grow in faith.

Above all, however, the course is intended for seekers and skeptics. If you have a friend you would like to talk to about your faith but haven’t quite known how, this is a wonderful opportunity. Invite your friend to join you for this course and help them find Jesus!

The introductory course to Lay Dehonians begins on August 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM for all those interested in the spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The solemnity of the Saints Peter and Paul is celebrated on Monday, June 29^th and the Feast of Saint Apostle Thomas on Friday, July 3^rd.

This Wednesday there will be an ecumenical outing for young adults to Mustasaari together with the young adults of Töölö Lutheran Parish at 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The youth will meet at the Taivallahti pier at 5:30 PM. Registrations and any food restrictions/allergy information should be directed to birgitta.hamalainen@evl.fi. The program includes Taizé prayer, grilling, swimming, and sauna, among other things.

7. We aim to hold parish coffee after the main Mass during the summer as well. At least June 14, June 28, and July 5 are being arranged. If you would like to take a coffee-serving turn this summer, please sign up on the list on the noticeboard.
