Those who will visit a graveyard and pray for the faithful departed from the 1st until the 8th of November can receive a plenary indulgence for the departed under the general conditions.
In order to obtain it, the faithful must, in addition to being in the state of grace:
- have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin
- have sacramentally confessed their sins
- receive the Holy Eucharist
- pray for the intentions of the Pope
There will be no confession and adoration on Monday 4.11.
The lay group of Sacred Heart of Jesus will gather on Thursday 7.11. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
(Mainly in Finnish due to having mainly Finnish speakers in the group at the moment, but anyone interested is welcome!)
The charismatic prayer group gathers on Fridays after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The First Communion classes will be held in Finnish on Saturday 11.11. at 10 am and the Confirmation classes at 3.30 pm in the parish hall.
We invite children to a Sunday school in Finnish. The meeting will take place on Sunday 10.11. at 10 am in the parish hall. There will be the Holy Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30 am.
Throughout November we will pray for the dead. Parishioners can send us the names of deceased relatives and friends by email: maria@katolinen.fi. The names of the deceased will be read and prayed for during the Adorations in November.
We can help the homeless and poor people by donating hygiene products to a charity foundation called Sininauhasäätiö. There is a list of products on the information board.

The Legion of Mary meets on Mondays after evening Mass in the parish hall. Meetings are in English and open to newcomers.
There will be a catechism class for adults on Thursday 24.10 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The First Communion and Confirmation classes will take place on Saturday 26.10 at 10.30 in the parish hall.
There will be Mass in Hungarian on Saturday 26.10 at 4 pm.
There will be a concert of Polish funeral songs on Sunday 27.10 at 3 pm.
To celebrate the anniversary of our parish, a drawing and logo design competition is organised. There are three categories:
- for children under 12 years old, a drawing competition on the theme of “Me, my family and St. Mary’s church”
- for young people aged 13-19 years old, a design competition on the logo of St. Mary’s parish anniversary
- for adults, a design competition on the logo of St. Mary’s parish anniversary.

October is a month dedicated to the Rosary prayer. We pray together the Rosary before the English Mass at 5.30 pm. We encourage to pray the Rosary also at home especially with your families.
The joint pilgrimage of the Nordic Catholic dioceses to Rome for the Jubilee Year will take place from Fri 31.1.2025 to Tue 4.2.2025. The programme includes visits to the main pilgrimage sites of the Holy Year, an audience with the Pope and Mass in St Peter’s Basilica. A total of 10 places have been reserved for members of St Mary’s parish, of which 8 are still free. Please register at the parish office.
The Feast of St. Bridget is on Monday 7.10. The Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated on Tuesday 8.10.
The Bible sharing group will gather on Thursday 10.10. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

A short Finnish course for English speakers who would like to improve their vocabulary of the Holy Mass and prayers will continue on Tuesday 1.10. at 6.45 pm in the parish hall.
There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday 4.10. in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The adoration starts after the evening Mass and will last till 10 pm.
There will be a Mass in Hyvinkää on Saturday 5.10. at 4 pm in the Old church (Vanha kirkko).
We invite all young people aged 13 to 19 years old to a meeting on Saturday 5.10. at 6 pm in the parish hall.

Welcome to the ecumenical pilgrimage to the Taizé New Year event in Tallinn 28.12.2024-1.1.2025. The event is for people aged 18-35. More information on the Taizé website www.taizetallinn.ee.
