The parish organises a youth camp!

We will organise a summer camp for youth aged 13-19 in Sastamala and Tampere on 6-9 June 2024. Participation fee 100 EUR (incl. transportation). At the camp you can get to know other young people, have fun and deepen your faith. The program includes outdoor and indoor games, swimming in Houhajärvi, sauna, stilt walking, campfire, songs and hanging out, but also lessons, discussions and prayer! In Tampere, the youth will attend the main mass on Sunday and get to know other young Catholics there. In Tampere, they will also hang out together in the city, or you they go to Särkänniemi amusement park at their own expense. We want to offer young people a great weekend that they will remember for a long time! More information about the camp and registration: https://nuortenilta.scj.fi/kesaleiri2024/

Registration for the Confirmation Course

Attention! The age group corrected!

Are you a eighth-grader or older who has not yet received the sacrament of confirmation? Are you a parent of such a young person? Please register or enrol your youngster in the Confirmation preparatory course. You can register at the parish office (tel. 09-2411633 or maria@katolinen.fi) or with Father Martti (tel. 050-5478805).

The courses for the fall are Sat 9.9., 14.10., 11.11., and 9.12. from 15:30-17:15. The course lasts about a year. It explores in particular the gift that young people will receive in the Sacrament of Confirmation, but also the action of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives in general. The course aims to enable the young person to derive maximum spiritual benefit from the sacrament. The course also includes regular attendance at Sunday Mass and an introduction to parish activities, especially youth nights. We also plan to organise a summer camp for Confirmation youth in early June. Accompanying the confirmation course will be Father Martti Savijoki SCJ and other adult mentors.
The sacrament of Confirmation is expected to be celebrated in October 2024.

Due to the Corona virus epidemic, according to the instructions of the Diocese of Helsinki all public Masses are cancelled from 18th of March 2020 onward until further notice.

All Masses in Diaspora (Nummi-Pusula, Karjaa, Hyvinkää, Olari) are cancelled.

St. Mary’s church stays open on weekdays from 9 am till 4 pm for personal prayers.

Holy Masses are celebrated according to the schedule without presence of the faithful. Masses are broadcasted on the Internet: https://www.pyhamaria.fi/?page_id=597925

There is a possibility of receiving sacraments. Please contact our parish by phone (09) 241 1633 or email: maria@katolinen.fi

The priests pray for all the parishioners.

May God bless you
