1. This week, the Catholic calendar includes two feasts: on Tuesday, the Feast of Saint Mary Magdalene, and on Thursday, the Feast of Saint James the Apostle On Friday, we also celebrate the memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
2. On Thursday, the praesidium of Legion of Mary will meet as usual after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
3. The diocesan feast will take place this year in Lohja on Saturday 16.8.2025 at 11 am. Registration by 9.8.2025. The programme after the mass in St. Lawrence Church will be in Vivamo (Vivamontie 2, 08200 Lohja). On the occasion of the Mass, Bishop Raimo will ordain the diocesan candidate for priesthood, Vietnamese-born deacon Chien Nguyen. Our parish will again organise bus transport. The bus will leave at 9:30 in front of the church. The cost of the trip is 30 €/person. Children 4-16 years old 15 €/person, children under 4 years for free. The lunch fee in Vivamo is 5 €/person. 4. If your child in third grade or older has not yet received First Communion, please register him/her for First Communion Preparatory Class. Classes will begin in September and will be held once a month on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM until First Communion. Registration at the parish office (tel. +358 50 434 4260 or maria@katolinen.fi). The classes will be organized both in Finnish and in English. The Finnish teaching dates are: 13.9.2025, 11.10.2025, 8.11.2025, 13.12.2025, 10.1.2026, 14.2.2026, 14.3.2026, 11.4.2026, 2.5.2026. The English teaching dates will be announced later.
5. We kindly ask all parents of eighth graders (or older youth) to register their child for the confirmation course. All older youth who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation are also welcome to join the course. Classes will begin in September and will be held once a month on Saturdays from 3:00 PM to 5:15 PM until the celebration of Confirmation in the autumn (there will be a break during the summer). Registration at the parish office. The classes will be organized both in Finnish and in English. The Finnish teaching dates are: 13.9.2025, 11.10.2025, 8.11.2025, 13.12.2025, 10.1.2026, 14.2.2026, 14.3.2026, 11.4.2026, 2.5.2026, 5.9.2026. The English teaching dates will be announced later.
6. During the renovation of the church facade, please pay attention to safety in the vicinity of the construction site. The renovation will cost €210,000, which is a major financial undertaking for the parish. 1. The exhibition “Eucharistic miracles around the world and testimonies from the parish of St. Mary” is still ongoing in our parish. The exhibition will be held in the church foyer until July 11. We would like to thank everyone involved in organizing the exhibition.
2. On Thursday, July 10, there will be a summer trip for teenagers to Mustasaari. The ferry leaves Taivallahti at 2 p.m. and returns from Mustasaari at 8 p.m. The program includes games, barbecuing, listening to God, and participating in a Taizé prayer. Please register with Father Martti.
3. On Thursday, the praesidium of Legion of Mary will meet as usual after the evening Mass in the parish hall. Newcomers are welcome.
4. Friday, July 4, is the feast day of Benedict, patron of Europe. We will celebrate Mass in Finnish at 6 p.m.

On the first Thursday of the month, the Lay Dehonians will also meet after the evening Mass in the second parish hall. New members are welcome to join it as well.
5. On Friday, July 4, there will be a long adoration in our church in honor of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Adoration begins after evening Mass and lasts until 10 p.m. Adoration begins with peaceful songs of praise and worship, followed by a period of silence, the Crown of the Heart of Jesus, and Compline in Finnish.
6. Organizers have been found for the church coffee service during the summer! However, we still need more volunteers starting in August. Please sign up at the office.
7. Our parish is organizing a pilgrimage on Saturday, July 5, to celebrate the Jubilee Year. The pilgrimage will cover 28 km from the former Carmelite monastery in Myllyjärvi to St. Henry’s Cathedral, passing by our church. The pilgrimage will begin at 8:30 a.m. with morning prayers and end in the evening with Mass and dinner at the cathedral. Welcome to an exhibition on “Eucharistic miracles around the world and Eucharistic experiences in the Parish of St. Mary” set up in the porch of our church until the 11th of July. We thank all the parishioners for the organization of this exhibition. 

The solemnity of the nativity of St. John the Baptist will be celebrated on Tuesday 24.6. There will be Mass in Finnish at 6 pm.

The Bible sharing group will gather on Tuesday 24.6. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

There will be the solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday 27.6. Mass in Finnish starts at 6 pm.

A novena prayer is organised before the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On Wednesday, prayer will take place in the parish hall and on the other days in the church after the evening Mass. On the last day of the novena, Thursday 26 June, there will be an all-night adoration. There is a need for persons who will pray especially during the night. More information on the notice board.

Our parish is organizing a Jubilee pilgrimage on Saturday 5.7. The pilgrimage will be a 26 km walk from the former Carmelite monastery in Myllyjärvi to St. Henry’s Cathedral.
