On the titular feast of our parish God gives spiritual gifts to those who are in the state of grace and attend the Holy Mass and receive the Communion in our church.

The morning Mass will be celebrated on weekdays at 7.30 am. There will be a morning prayer at 7.00 and Mass at 7.30 am in Finnish on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Morning Mass in English will be celebrated on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30 am. There will be Mass at 10 am and 6 pm on Saturday.

There will be a Catechism class for adults on Thursday 22.8 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

There will be a half day Bible conference on Saturday the 24th of August from 1 – 5 pm. The Bible conference includes songs, preaching, Holy Mass and adoration. Details on the bulletin board.

We invite children from 5 to 8 years old to a Sunday school in Finnish. The meeting will take place on Sunday 25.8 at 10 am in the parish hall. There will be the Holy Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30 am.

The blessing of the school children will take place on Sunday 25.8 during the Mass in Finnish at 11.30. Children can bring school items for blessing.

A short course for English speakers who wish to improve their Finnish for masses and prayer sessions will begin on the 3rd of September at 6.45 pm in the parish hall. The course consists of five meetings.

If your child in the third grade or older has not yet received his/her First Communion, please register him/her for the First Communion preparation class. The class starts in September and is held once a month on Saturdays until the First Communion. Please register at the parish office (tel. 050 434 4260 or maria(ät)katolinen.fi).

We ask the parents of all youngsters in the eighth grade to register their teenagers for the preparatory course for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Also, any youth or young adult who is older than that age and has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation is very welcome to register for the course beginning in September. A Life in the Spirit seminar will be organised, covering the basics of faith and deepening understanding of the work and gifts of the Holy Spirit. More information on the notice board.

So called “Open Doors´ Day” will be organised on Sat 7.9. from 11-15 in honour of the 70th anniversary of our parish. The programme includes a presentation of the church, a photo exhibition on the history of the church, a children’s point for the youngest members of the family and a cake and coffee. Volunteers are invited to participate in the Open Doors Day baking, coffee making, and maintaining order and cleanliness. Sign up on the list on the bulletin board, or at the parish office.

Our parish was given the task of organising the liturgy of the Mass in Lohja next Saturday 17.8. It would be great if as many Mass servers as possible could attend the Mass. We ask that the parents of the Mass servers arrange a trip to Lohja so that they can be at St. Laurence Church at 10.00 am. Please let us know who is coming to Lohja.

The Diocesan feast will be held on Saturday, the 17th of August 2024 in Lohja. The celebrations will begin with a Holy Mass in Saint Lawrence Church at 11 am. There will be lunch, coffee and a prayer to the Blessed Mary. Our parish will arrange bus transport. The bus will leave at 9.30 am, the cost is 20 €. There is another list for those who will go by own car.

There will be the memorial of St. Dominic on Thursday 8.8, feast of St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross on Friday 10.8 and feast of St. Lawrence on Saturday.

The Bible sharing group will meet on Thursday 8.8 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The Legion of Mary gathers every Monday after evening mass in the parish hall.

There will be no morning Masses on weekdays till the middle of August. The evening Masses on Tuesdays and Thursdays will be celebrated in English.
