The next week belongs to the Easter Octave.

On the Easter Monday Mass in Vietnamese will be celebrated at 8.30 am, Mass in Finnish at 10 am and Mass in English at 6 pm.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday 5.4 in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The adoration will start after the evening Mass and will last till 10 pm. The Charismatic group and the Lay Dehonians will lead the prayers.

There will be a meeting for the youth on Saturday 6.4 at 6 pm in the parish hall.

The Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated on the 7th of April. The plenary indulgence is granted (under the usual conditions of a sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and a prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on Divine Mercy Sunday, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, recite the Our Father and the Creed, and also adding a devout prayer (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!).

We invite all couples planning to get married to a marriage course. The marriage course is a very important part of the preparation before marriage. The marriage course starts on Tuesday 2.4.2024 at 18.45 in the parish hall and consists of six meetings. The course will be held in Finnish and English. More information on the notice board.

The Holy Week begins today. During the Holy Week we celebrate the mysteries of our Lord’s passion, death and resurrection, the central events of our salvation. Let us attend these celebrations with special devotion:

  • The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 26.3 at 6 pm in St. Henry’s cathedral. There will be no evening Mass on Tuesday in our church.
  • On the Holy Thursday we commemorate the Last Supper of the Lord and the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood. This is a feast of all priests. Holy Mass begins at 6 pm. After the Mass, there will be an all-night adoration. There is a list on the information board, please put your name to indicate the time of your prayer especially during the night.
  • Good Friday – the celebration of Jesus’ passion and death. The Way of the Cross in Finnish begins at 2 pm; the liturgy at 3 pm. Confession starts at 2 pm. Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence. Catholics between the ages of 18 until 60 are obliged to fast. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older must abstain from meat. Fasting means partaking of only one full meal and two small meals. A prayer in Malayalam begins at 10.30 am. Prayer in Arabic at 6 pm
  • on the Holy Saturday traditional blessing of the Easter food at 11 am., solemn Easter Vigil at 9.30 , blessing of the food after the Vigil
  • on the Easter Sunday bishop Raimo’s solemn Mass in Finnish at 10 am, Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30, Mass in Arabic at 1 pm, Mass in Vietnamese at 2.30 pm, Mass in Polish at 4 pm and Mass in English at 6 pm.

We encourage all parishioners to attend the sacrament of reconciliation before Easter. There is an opportunity for confession on Monday and Wednesday at 4.45 pm, on Thursday after the evening Mass.

There will be a Catechism class for adults on Wednesday at 6.45 pm in the parish hall.

The solemnity of St. Joseph will be celebrated on Tuesday 19.3. There will be Mass in English at 7.30 am and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm.

The charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 15.3 after the Mass and the Stations of the Cross.

There will be a Readers’ workshop on Saturday 23.3 at 11 am in the church.

The Sunday school for children will begin at 9.45 on the next Sunday 24.3.

We invite all altar servers to a meeting on Saturday 23.3 at 2 pm in the church.

The next Sunday 24.3. is the Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. On the Palm Sunday we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The blessing of palm branches will begin at 10 am at the front of the English school, followed by a joyful procession to the church and the Mass. You are welcome to bring your own palm or other branches to be blessed. There will be no Stations of the Cross before the Mass and no Mass for children at 11.30.

There will be Holy Mass on Thursday 14.3 at 11 am to commemorate the birthday of fr. Leo Dehon. The Mass will be celebrated by the superior general of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus fr. Carlos Luis Suárez Codorniú, bishop emeritus Teemu Sippo and other priests.

There will be a meeting of superior general fr. Carlos Luis Suárez Codorniú with Lay Dehonians and all interested on Thursday 14.3 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 15.3 after the Mass and the Stations of the Cross.

There will be First Communion and Confirmation classes in English on Saturday 16.3 at 10 am.

There will be Mass in Hyvinkää on Saturday 16.3. at 4 pm in the Old church (Vanha kirkko).

The Stations of the Cross in English will be celebrated on Sundays at 5.30 pm.

A Lector Workshop – for readers at the Mass – will take place on Saturday 23rd of March at 11 am. More details on the information board.
