Twelve parishioners have enrolled as candidates to the new parish council. The election board has decided to nominate all candidates to the parish council. Because one candidate has withdrawn his candidacy, eleven candidates have been nominated to the new parish council. They are: Kaj Glantz, Eeva Hämäläinen, Jipson Paul Kolenchery, Heikki Kymäläinen, Anne Kärnä, Tea Laurila, Pham Chau My, Heikki Saastamoinen, Sara Torvalds, Leo Virtanen, Siyan Zhuang. We congratulate the members of the new parish council.

There will be changes among the priests working in our parish. Fr. Zenon Strykowksi SCJ will leave Finland and return to his homeland at the beginning of January 2023. Fr. Martti Savijoki SCJ will come to work in our parish as a parochial vicar. Fr. Zenon will celebrate his farewell Mass on the first of January 2023 at 10 am. Fr. Martti will celebrate his first Mass on the 8th of January 2023 at 10 am. We wish them abundant God’s blessing in their new tasks.

During the Advent we support those in need. Caritas Finland’s Advent Collection supports farmers in Congo. We can donate via Caritas web page caritas.fi, directly to Caritas bank account, via Mobile pay or to the donation box in the church.

The feast of St. Apostle Andrew will be celebrated on Wednesday 30.11.

We will celebrate the commemoration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, 2.12. There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament also after the evening Mass that will last till midnight.

There will be a Tridentine Mass on Saturday 3.12 at 7.30 am.

The Legion of Mary organises a procession in honour of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday 3.12 at 5 pm. The procession will begin at St. Mary’s church and will return to the church before the evening Mass.

There will be Mass in Espoo, in Olari chapel, on Sunday 4th of December at 4 pm.

Elders and homebound persons can ask a priest to visit them at home and to bring the Holy Communion. Contact our parish office.

A marriage course will be organized for those who plan to get marry next year. The course will begin on the 10th of January 2023 in the parish hall of St. Henry’s cathedral at 7 pm.

The memorial of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Monday 21.11.

St. Cecilia’s memorial will be celebrated on Tuesday 21.11. St. Cecilia is a patron saint of church music and musicians. We thank our organists Markku Mäkinen, Ann-Catrin Wecktröm and all members of choirs for their important service in our church. There will be a meeting for choirs’ members on Monday 21.11 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The Legion of Mary group gathers on Fridays after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

Mass in Lithuanian will be celebrated on Saturday 26.11.

We invite children from 5 to 8 years old to a Sunday school in Finnish. The meeting will take place on the next Sunday, 27.11 at 10 am in the parish hall. There will be the Holy Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30 am.

The liturgical time of Advent begins on Sunday 27.11.

In November we pray especially for all the faithful departed. Everyone is invited to write and send us names of your departed relatives and friends by email: maria(ät)katolinen.fi. We will read these names in November during adorations and pray for them.

We support the Holy See with Sunday’s collection on the 13th of November.

There will be no evening Mass on Monday 14.11.

The Legion of Mary gathers on Friday 18.11 in the parish hall after the evening Mass.

There will be Mass in Hyvinkää on Saturday 19.11 at 4 pm in the Old Church (Vanha kirkko).

There will be Mass in Hungarian on Saturday 19.11 at 4 pm in St. Henry’s cathedral. Confession begins at 3 pm.

We will celebrate the solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe on Sunday 20.11.

We can receive a plenary indulgence for the faithful departed under the general conditions until the 8th of November if we will visit a graveyard and pray for the departed.

The candidates must inform the Parish Priest in writing by 14.11.2022.

Those who will visit a graveyard and pray for the faithful departed from the 1st until the 8th of November can receive a plenary indulgence for the departed under the general conditions. In order to obtain it, the faithful must, in addition to being in the state of grace: have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin; have sacramentally confessed their sins; receive the Holy Eucharist; pray for the intentions of the Pope.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday 4.11 in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The adoration will start after the evening Mass and will last till midnight.

The All Souls day we will celebrate on Saturday 5.11. There will be Mass in Finnish at 10 am and Mass in Latin at 1 pm.

There will be a prayer for the faithful departed on the All souls day 5.11 at 1 pm at the Catholic quarter of the Malmi graveyard number 57k.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with prayers in English exclusively for the Catholic priests in Finland on Saturday 5th of November from 3.30 till 5 pm. More details on the bulletin board.

The All Saints solemnity will be celebrated on Sunday 6.11.

There will be Mass in Espoo, in the Olari chapel, on the next Sunday at 4 pm.
