We thank all those who took part in the preparation of the Holy Week liturgy. We thank our sacristans, our organist and our choir for wonderful music, altar servers, those who set the flowers in the church and in the parish hall. May God bless you.

The next week belongs to the Easter Octave.

On the Easter Monday Mass in Finnish will be celebrated at 10.00 am and Mass in English at 6 pm.

The marriage course starts on Tuesday 22nd of April 2025 at 6.45 pm in the parish hall. The course will be held in Finnish and English.

The Legion of Mary group gathers on Thursdays after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

There will be a charismatic prayer meeting on Friday 26.4. after the evening Mass.

The Divine Mercy Sunday will be celebrated on the 27th of April. The plenary indulgence is granted (under the usual conditions of a sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and a prayer for the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff) to the faithful who, on Divine Mercy Sunday, in a spirit that is completely detached from the affection for a sin, even a venial sin, recite the Our Father and the Creed, and also adding a devout prayer (e.g. Merciful Jesus, I trust in you!).

A week of prayers for the unity of Christians has begun on Saturday 18th of January. More information on the website ekumenia.fi. Let us remember to pray for the unity of Christians. The Finnish Ecumenical Council needs our financial support; we can put our donations into a box at the back of the church on your right during the week of prayers.

The evening Mass on Monday 20.1. will be celebrated in English. There will be no confession before adoration.

A course for English speakers who wish to improve their Finnish for masses and prayers will continue on Tuesday 21.1. at 6.45 pm in the parish hall.

A Catechism class for adults will take place on Thursday 23.1. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The charismatic prayer group gathers on Friday 24.1 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The conversion of St. Paul will be celebrated on Saturday 25.1.

The Jubilee Year 2025 begins in our diocese on Sunday 29.12.2024. The Jubilee Year invites us to strengthen our spiritual life and to open ourselves to God’s grace. Gathering and opening liturgy at the German Church in Helsinki (Unioninkatu 1) at 12:30 PM, followed by a procession to St. Henry’s Cathedral, where the Pontifical Mass will be celebrated.

We will thank God for the past year 2024 on Tuesday 31.12. We thank our church workers, all volunteers and parishioners for their service, prayers and witness of faith.

The solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and the beginning of New Year will be celebrated on Wednesday 1.1. We will ask God’s blessing for the New Year. All Catholics have a privilege and the obligation to attend the Mass on Wednesday.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday 3.1 in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The adoration will start after the evening Mass and will last till 10 pm.

Mass in Hyvinkää will be celebrated on Saturday 4.1 at 4 pm in the Old church (Vanha kirkko).

Stickers and prayers for the yearly home blessing are available in the porch. At the beginning pray together the Our Father and Hail Mary prayer, one reads the prayer of blessing and fixes the sticker. Donation for a sticker is 2 Euros to support the missionary work of the church.

The solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Monday 9.12. There will be Mass in English at 7.30 am and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm.

Bible sharing group will gather on Thursday 12.12 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

A Christmas party for young people aged 13-19 will take place on Sat 14.12. at 6 pm in the parish hall.

A Christmas dinner for lonely people will take place in our parish hall on Sat 21.12. at 7 pm.

It is important during the time of Advent that everyone dedicates more time to prayer, penance, charity work and reading of the Bible. We encourage all parishioners to attend the sacrament of confession before Christmas.

The feast of the dedication of our church and the Finnish Independence Day will be celebrated on Friday 6.12. The Holy Mass in Finnish will begin at 10 am. The Cantores Minores Alumni choir will sing during the Mass. There will be also Mass at 6 pm and adoration afterwards till 10 pm.

The main celebration the 70th anniversary of our parish will take place on Sunday, December 8th. Bishop Raimo will preside over the solemn Mass at 10 am, followed by a reception at the English School. The program includes musical performances, singing together, interesting interviews, and a children’s corner. A Christmas party for young people aged 13-19 will take place on Sat 14.12. at 6 pm in the parish hall. Registration and more information here.

Elders and homebound persons can ask a priest to visit them at home and to bring the Holy Communion. Please contact our parish office.
