There will be a summer picnic for the Youth on Saturday, July 25th, at 3 pm in Valpurinpuisto (the park next to our church). The food will be provided and there will be some outdoor activities. After the picnic the youth will attend the Holy Mass at 6 pm and there will be Adoration after the Mass. All youth and interested people are welcome to the program. The diocesan feast will be held this year in Lohja on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence’s Church (Pyhän Laurin kirkko) at 11:00 AM, after which the program will continue at Vivamo (Vivamontie 2, 08200 Lohja). Our parish is organizing bus transportation. The bus departs at 9:30 AM from in front of the church, and the return trip from Vivamo is at 3:30 PM. The price is 30 euros. Children aged 4–16 are 15 €/person, and children under 4 years old are free. A small fee will be requested for the meal at Vivamo. You can pay via MobilePay (47373) or to the parish bank account: FI65 1023 3000 2047 89. Write ”diocesan feast” as the message/reference. Registration must be done by August 9 to the office (tel. 050 434 4260, maria(ät)katolinen.fi). Please register even if you are coming with your own transportation.
The Legion of Mary group meets on Thursdays after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The parish charismatic prayer group Hearts on Fire meets on Friday evening after Mass in the parish hall.
The introductory course to Lay Dehonians begins on August 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM for all those interested in the spirituality of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month until May. The English course will be online and on site in Turku. More information is available at scj.fi.
We remind you to register your children for the First Communion preparation classes (3rd graders) – or for the Confirmation course (8th graders and older). Registration at the parish office (tel. 050 434 4260 or maria(ät)katolinen.fi). Courses in Finnish will begin on September 12, 2026. Please let us know if your child needs classes in English.
A request for parents: if the school of your child is not able to provide Catholic religion classes, please let us know.
Caritas wants to assist those taking part in the parish life in Finland across the entire country. Caritas would like to collect information about the support people need. The form can be accessed via the link, which can be found on the information board. The survey is open until August 16th.
