There will be no morning Mass on Tuesday 17.2.
There will be a Catechism class for adults on Tuesday 17.2. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The time of Lent begins on Wednesday 18th of February, which is the Ash Wednesday. Lent is a time of penance, conversion and preparation for Easter. The best way of our spiritual renewal is to receive sacraments of confession and Eucharist, prayer, fast and charity work.
Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Fasting means partaking of only one full meal and of two light meals. In addition, all Catholics that are 14 years old and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
On the Ash Wednesday there will be Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am, Mass in Vietnamese at 12.00, Mass in Finnish at 2 pm, Mass in English at 4 pm and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm. We will raise fund during the Lent to help the poor.
Bishop Raimo Goyarrola will perform a canonical visitation in our parish on the 21st and 22nd of February. Let us remember in our prayers this event. There will be an opportunity to meet personally the bishop. Please contact the parish office. You will find the timetable of the visitation on the information board.
The praesidium of the Legion of Mary gathers every Thursday after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 20.2. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
The First Communion and Confirmation classes in English will continue on Saturday 21.2. at 10.30 in the parish hall.
There will be a meeting for teenagers on Saturday 21.2. The meeting will begin at 6 pm with the Holy Mass in the church.
We will celebrate the Stations of the Cross in English on Sundays at 5.30 pm.
