The time of Lent begins on Wednesday 14th of February, which is the Ash Wednesday. Lent is a time of penance, conversion and preparation for Easter. The best way of our spiritual renewal is to receive sacraments of confession and Eucharist, prayer, fast and charity work.

Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Fasting means partaking of only one full meal and of two light meals. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. There will be Holy Mass in English on the Ash Wednesday at 7.30 am and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm. The Mass at 6 pm will be recorded by the television and broadcasted on the following Sunday at 10 am. We will raise fund during the Lent to help the poor.

There will be no confession or adoration on Monday evening.

The Charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 17.2 at 6.45 pm in the parish hall.

There will be First Communion and Confirmation classes on Saturday 17.2 10 am.

There will be a retreat in Vietnamese on Saturday 17.2 at 11 am in the church.

Mass in Hyvinkää will be celebrated on Saturday 17.2 at 4 pm in the Old church.

We invite young people 13 to 19 years old to a youth group meeting on Saturday 17.2 at 6 pm in the parish hall.

There will be Mass in Arabic at 1 pm and Mass in German at 2.30 pm on Sunday 18.2.

We will celebrate the Stations of the Cross in English on Sundays at 5.30 pm.

The Legion of Mary group gathers on Mondays in the parish hall after the evening Mass.

We will celebrate the Presentation of the Lord feast on Friday, 2nd of February. It is also a day of consecrated life. There will be Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am and 6 pm. Please bring a candle on that feast as there will be a blessing of candles at the beginning of the Mass.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday 2.2 in honour of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The adoration will start after the evening Mass and will last till 10 pm. The Charismatic group and the Lay Dehonians will lead the prayers.

A meeting for the youth 13-19 years old will take place on Saturday 3.2 at 6 pm in the parish hall.

There will be Mass in Russian on Sunday 4.2. at 1 pm. and Mass in Swedish at 2.30 pm.

The Sunday of the Word of God, celebrated on the 21st of January, reminds us to read the Bible every day and meditate on it.

Two week-long pilgrimages will be organised next spring, to Poland and Bavaria. The trip will be led by our parishioner, Dr. Emil Anton, Doctor of Theology.
