It is very important, that every Catholic will attend the sacrament of confession before Easter.

During the Lent we can help poor people through the Caritas Finland. The Lenten Collection 2026 supports those in need in Finland. Caritas helps migrants, the lonely and low-income families. Your donation enables camp support for children and youth, Christmas gift cards, and personal guidance and counselling. You can donate via Caritas website www.caritas.fi, directly to Caritas’ bank account or to the donation box in the church.

The solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord will be celebrated on Wednesday 25.3. There will be a Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am and 6 pm. On the same day, the International Day of the Unborn Child is held to defend the lives and human rights of unborn children.

The praesidium of the Legion of Mary gathers every Thursday after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 27.3. after the Stations of Cross in the parish hall.

The annual meeting of English Mass Readers is scheduled on the 28th of March. The event will start with the Holy Mass at 10 am followed by a gathering at the library room till 2 pm. Those who wish to join English readers are also invited to this event.

There will be a youth meeting on Saturday 28.3. at 6 pm in the parish hall.

Next Sunday, 29.3., is the Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. On the Palm Sunday we commemorate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The blessing of palm branches will begin at 10 am at the front of the English school, followed by a joyful procession to the church and the Mass. You are welcome to bring your own palm or other branches to be blessed. There will be no Stations of the Cross before Masses and no Mass for children at 11.30. There will be additional Mass in Finnish at 1 pm and Mass in Vietnamese at 2.30 pm.

The Catholic school will start operating in August this year. The practical arrangements have progressed well and students have already registered for the school. There is still room! Registration is ongoing and we especially hope that preschoolers and 1st and 2nd grade students will join us. The registration form is on the school website koulu.katolinen.fi. You can come and visit the school at the Open Doors event on Saturday, March 28th from 11 a.m. at St. James’ Church, Myllykallionrinne 1. Warmly welcome!

We invite couples planning to get married to join our marriage course. This course is an essential part of wedding preparation and begins on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at 6:45 pm in the parish hall. It consists of seven meetings and will be held in both Finnish and English.
