October is a month dedicated to the Rosary prayer. We pray together the Rosary before the English Mass at 5.30 pm. We encourage to pray the Rosary in our church after the evening Holy Mass on weekdays and to pray the Rosary at home especially with your families.

There will be an organ music concert on Thursday 19.10 at 7 pm. Music of Buxtehude, J.S. Bach, Mendelssohn and Gustafsson will be presented.

There will be First Communion and Confirmation classes on Saturday 21.10 at 10 am in the parish hall.

Mass in Hyvinkää, in the Old church (Vanha kirkko) will be celebrated on Saturday 21.10 at 4 pm.

We invite children to a Sunday school in Finnish. The meeting will take place on Sunday 21.10 at 10 am in the parish hall. There will be the Holy Mass in Finnish for children at 11.30 am.

There will be a meeting for young people on Saturday 21.10 at 6 pm in the parish hall.

There will be an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with prayers in English for priests and for the bishop-elect fr. Raimo Goyarrola. The adoration will take place on Saturday 28th of October at 3.30 pm. More details on the bulletin board.

In November we pray especially for all the faithful departed. Parishioners can write and send us names of their departed relatives and friends by email: maria(ät)katolinen.fi. We will read these names and pray for them in November during adorations.

We will celebrate the following liturgical events during the next week: the memorial of St. Vincent de Paul on Wednesday 27.9, the feast of Sts. Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael on Friday 29.9 and the memorial of St. Hieronymus on Saturday 30.9.

The Legion of Mary gathers every Monday in the parish hall after the evening Mass.

There will be a Catechism class in English for adults on Thursday 28.9 in the parish hall after the evening Mass.

There will be a half day Bible Conference as the continuation of “Encounter with Jesus” program on Saturday 30th of September from 1pm – 5 pm. The Bible Conference includes preaching, songs, confession, Holy Mass and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with prayers for healing. Details on the bulletin board.

Bishop emeritus Teemu Sippo SCJ will celebrate Mass in Finnish at 10 am on Sunday 1.10 and confer the sacrament of Confirmation to the youth.

We will celebrate the following feasts during the next week: the memorial of Korean martyrs on Wednesday 20.9, the feast of St. Matthew, apostle and evangelist on Thursday 21.9 and the memorial of St. Padre Pio on Saturday 23.9.

The Lectio Divina in Finnish – reading and meditating on the Holy Bible – will take place on Wednesday 20.9 in the parish hall after the evening Mass.

The First Communion and Confirmation classes in English will begin on Saturday 23.9 at 10 am in the parish hall.

There will be a March for life on Saturday 23rd of September. It will begin at the Senate Square at 2 pm. The Holy Mass in Finnish will be celebrated at 11.30 in our church.

The nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated on Friday 8.9. There will be Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am and 6 pm.

If your child in the third grade or older has not yet received his/her First Communion, please register him/her for the First Communion preparation class in Finnish. The class starts on the 9th of September at 10 am and is held once a month on Saturdays until the First Communion. Please register at the parish office (tel. 09-2411633 or maria(ät)katolinen.fi).

We ask the parents of all youngsters in the eighth grade to register their teenagers for the preparatory course for the Sacrament of Confirmation in Finnish. Also, any youth or young adult who is older than that age and has not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation is welcome to register for the course beginning on the 9th of September.
