During the Lent we can help poor people through the Caritas Finland. The Lenten Collection 2026 supports those in need in Finland. Caritas helps migrants, the lonely and low-income families. Your donation enables camp support for children and youth, Christmas gift cards, and personal guidance and counselling. You can donate via Caritas website www.caritas.fi, directly to Caritas’ bank account or to the donation box in the church.

The solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord will be celebrated on Wednesday 25.3. There will be a Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am and 6 pm. On the same day, the International Day of the Unborn Child is held to defend the lives and human rights of unborn children.

The praesidium of the Legion of Mary gathers every Thursday after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 27.3. after the Stations of Cross in the parish hall.

The annual meeting of English Mass Readers is scheduled on the 28^th of March. The event will start with the Holy Mass at 10 am followed by a gathering at the library room till 2 pm. Those who wish to join English readers are also invited to this event.

There will be a youth meeting on Saturday 28.3. at 6 pm in the parish hall.

Next Sunday, 29.3., is the Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord. On the Palm Sunday we commemorate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. The blessing of palm branches will begin at 10 am at the front of the English school, followed by a joyful procession to the church and the Mass. You are welcome to bring your own palm or other branches to be blessed. There will be no Stations of the Cross before Masses and no Mass for children at 11.30. There will be additional Mass in Finnish at 1 pm and Mass in Vietnamese at 2.30 pm.

The Catholic school will start operating in August this year. The practical arrangements have progressed well and students have already registered for the school. There is still room! Registration is ongoing and we especially hope that preschoolers and 1st and 2nd grade students will join us. The registration form is on the school website koulu.katolinen.fi. We invite couples planning to get married to join our marriage course. This course is an essential part of wedding preparation and begins on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at 6:45 pm in the parish hall. It consists of seven meetings and will be held in both Finnish and English.

A new priest fr. Dinh The Hung Johannes SCJ from Vietnam begins his pastoral service in our parish. We wish him abundant God’s blessing and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

There will be a meeting for the altar servers on Saturday 14.3. at 10 am.

We invite the couples who plan to get married to a marriage course. The marriage course is a very important part of the preparation for marriage. The marriage course starts on Tuesday 7^th of April 2026 at 6.45 pm in the parish hall and consists of seven meetings. The course will be held in Finnish and English.

There will be no morning Mass on Tuesday 17.2.

There will be a Catechism class for adults on Tuesday 17.2. after the evening Mass in the parish hall.

The time of Lent begins on Wednesday 18th of February, which is the Ash Wednesday. Lent is a time of penance, conversion and preparation for Easter. The best way of our spiritual renewal is to receive sacraments of confession and Eucharist, prayer, fast and charity work.

Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Fasting means partaking of only one full meal and of two light meals. In addition, all Catholics that are 14 years old and older must abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

On the Ash Wednesday there will be Mass in Finnish at 7.30 am, Mass in Vietnamese at 12.00, Mass in Finnish at 2 pm, Mass in English at 4 pm and Mass in Finnish at 6 pm. We will raise fund during the Lent to help the poor.

Bishop Raimo Goyarrola will perform a canonical visitation in our parish on the 21^st and 22^nd of February. Let us remember in our prayers this event. There will be an opportunity to meet personally the bishop. Please contact the parish office. You will find the timetable of the visitation on the information board.

There will be a meeting for teenagers on Saturday 21.2. The meeting will begin at 6 pm with the Holy Mass in the church.
